CONTINUITY THROUGH CHANGE
The student is more than the transition.
Organize school-change questions while respecting the different people, permissions and responsibilities around the student.
Clarify who can act
- Ask the responsible agency or school to confirm educational decision-making authority.
- Do not treat possession of a document or a portal invitation as proof of legal authority.
- Record contacts and unresolved authority questions without uploading confidential case histories into public forms.
Protect continuity
- List the records and conversations needed for the school handoff.
- Confirm practical questions about transportation, courses and access with the responsible team.
- Keep the student’s own priorities visible alongside administrative tasks.
Share deliberately
- Invite only people who need a particular role in the education conversation.
- Confirm what each person may view and when that access should end.
- Use the responsible agency and school’s required processes for official records.
